It would successfully convert all file types to all file types except mp3 and the resulting file that it created is exactly the same as WaveEditor creates. It still wouldn't save an mp3 file and the "convert audio file" function acted exactly the same. I even tried upgrading to the latest Power Director which also installs WaveEditor. In fact, you'd think that if it could not successfully generate a file that it would give some sort of error or at least a warning but, again, it does not. It is acting like it does not have an mp3 codec but you would think that would generate some sort of error at run time if true which it does not. It never made any difference at all and they never offered any other troubleshooting suggestions. Time consuming but I did it each time they suggested it just in case I was missing something.

The tech I talked to tried the same thing that I was doing on his PC and it worked so he told me that there was nothing he could do but suggest that I uninstall and reinstall the software. After 4 exchanges where it seemed that I got a new tech each time who had not read the previous messages I finally tried the phone support. I have had no success trying to use Cyberlink Technical Support. However, it is only a 1KB file and has no content - see attached file. When it goes away the file I tried to save has been created with the correct file name and a file type of mp3. When I "Save Track as." an mp3 file type the progress bar goes to about 50% and then hangs there about 5-10 seconds before just disappearing. I can save all of the supported file types except mp3.

I purchased the download and upgraded without any errors and it did install a new WE version that supported saving the additional file types. After a little research I saw that it could be upgraded by upgrading P2G to v8 and the WE version would provide for saving both mp3 and m4p files. I liked the WaveEditor program but it did not allow me to save an mp3 file - only wav and wma. I received the Cyberlink BD Solution suite with a Blu-Ray burner I purchased.
